Lifeguards and Swim Instructors for 2022

GGHA is looking for energetic team players who are eager to
make a positive contribution to our family friendly swim programs.

What are the job requirements? 
Lifeguard Applicants 
Must be at least 15 1/2 years old and Lifeguard certified by May 27th.
Swim Instructor Applicants 
Must be at least 15 years and preferably Lifeguard certified or
minimally CPR & First Aid certified by May 16th.
Where can I get certified? 
Lifeguard Certification:
The appropriate lifeguard certification course for Glenmoor Gardens is
the American Red Cross Lifeguard course.  
Shallow Water Lifeguard certifications will NOT be accepted.

Several local organizations offer American Red Cross lifeguard certification
and recertification courses over spring break and in the coming months. 
Happy Fish Swim School, Hayward Plunge , and Calphin Aquatic Club
are just a few of the organizations that offer Lifeguard certification training and recertification.  
You can also check with the American Red Cross to find a local class.
CPR & First Aid Certification
CPR & First Aid certifications can be obtained by taking a certification course from any authorized agency.
Courses must be hands-on/in-class courses - online certifications will not be accepted.
Online Certifications NOT Accepted
All certifications and re-certifications must be completed as part of an in-person/in-water/in-class course.
American Red Cross Blended Learning Lifeguard certifications will be accepted.
Online certifications and re-certifications can not be accepted.
Be sure to get your completion certificate upon completion of the course!
How do you apply?
 Download, complete, and turn in an employment application.  
 Plan to complete your certification or recertification 
ASAP  Employment applications are due in the GGHA Office
Now  Interview with GGHA
All new applicants and returning staff must complete and submit an application to the GGHA office.  
Completed applications can be dropped through the mail slot in the office door at your convenience,
or emailed to

Both new and returning applicants will be interviewed. 
Be sure to plan ahead and complete your lifeguard and CPR certification or recertification!
